The official website of the Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2023 (TAAF2023) announced on December 5 the results of the vote “Everyone’s Choice Best 100” for him Anime of the Year. As expected, the third season of Jashin-chan Dropkick (Dropkick on My Devil!) won first place in the TV series category. For his part, Uta no Prince-sama The Movie: Maji LOVE ST☆RISH TOURSthe second concert film in the franchise Uta no Prince-samaranked first in the feature film category.

The Anime of the Year consists of three categories: “Best film” (feature films and TV series), “Single Award” Y “Fan Award (Anime Fan Award).” Among the 411 works released commercially or broadcast in Japan in fiscal year 2022 (October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022), fans first vote for their 100 favorite works as the “Everyone’s Choice Best 100 (The Best 100 According to Everyone)”. Next, the winners of the three categories will be determined among those 100 works.

The total number of votes cast was 75,828. Due to the fact that two works received the same number of votes, 101 works are eligible for this year’s contest. Among the 101 selected works, the Anime Fan Award will again be voted for by the fans. Voting for the Anime Fan Award is scheduled to begin on January 6, 2023. Meanwhile, the winners of the Best Film category will be voted for by anime industry professionals.
